Manasalu is one of the mountainous areas of Nepal. This is usually a non-killing area of Buddhists. Due to low tourist arrivals, the place is still free from external influences. The majority of the people depend on agriculture and animal husbandry. They are still adopting the traditional way of life.
The trek starts from the very valley at low land. And the trail goes through fragmented settlements and dense forests along the banks of the Budhi Gandaki river
When Namrung arrives, more views of the surrounding open up. After passing up & down you reach to beautiful Lho village with the first sight of Manasalu. Then it comes Samagau village spread over a large plateau at the foot of the Manasalu. Children dressed in traditional costumes are found going to fetch firewood and graze cattle. The houses have made of wood to accommodate people on the upper floor and cattle on the ground floor. Apart from the mountains, there are also beautiful lakes and glaciers around the village. So most of the tourists spend two nights there.
From Samagau starts a fully open phase area and reaches Samdo and Larke Bazaar which is an old business center. Finally, you cross the Larke La with amazing mountain views.
Though it’s harder, It will be more exciting than the physical challenge. Even after crossing Larke, Manasalu is visible on the left and Annapurna on the right. After descending from Bhimthang, the beautiful green forest begins again. you will forget all the tiredness while you will see different views of Manasalu from the middle of the forest. Despite the amazing scenery, the journey is physically challenging. So it would be wise to prepare for the walk-in in advance.
