Langtang is a popular trekking destination nearby Kathmandu. This area is dominated by the Tamang tribe and influenced by the Tibetan culture. It is a suitable trek for all types of hikers as it can do within a week and has relatively less crowds of tourists.
The trek starts from Syabrubesi along the Langtang River in the green forest. After crossing Lama hotel, you can see the beautiful view of Langtang Li rung even from inside of the forest. Then you reach Langtang village at the foot of the mountain. Houses have rebuilt in a slightly new way since the 2015 earthquake. But the whole village has decorated in the traditional style with Buddhist flags, gems and stupas.
Along the way, yaks find grazing up to Kanjin Gumba. Fresh Yak yogurt and Shiba Thun juice also can taste according to the season. Since the final destination is Kanjin Gumba at an altitude of 3800 m, the probability of AMS is low.
Although the Kanjin Gumba is at a low altitude, it can hike from there to the Kanjin Ri at an altitude of about 4400 m and the Tsergu Ri at an altitude of 4984m. From both viewpoints, you can see the breathtaking mountain views spread all around, as well as beautiful glaciers and lakes at comfortable elevation.
