Langtang valley Langtang is a popular trekking destination nearby Kathmandu. This area is dominated by the Tamang tribe, influenced by the Tibetan culture. It is a suitable trek for all types of hikers as it can do within a week and has relatively less crowds of tourists.

The trek starts from Syabrubesi along the Langtang River in the green forest. After crossing Lama hotel, you can see the beautiful view of Langtang Lirung even from inside of the  forest.

Then you reach Langtang village just at the foot of the mountain. Houses have rebuilt in a slightly new way since the 2015 earthquake. But the whole village has decorated in the traditional style with Buddhist flags, gems and stupas.

Along the way, yaks are found grazing up to Kanjin Gumba. Fresh Yak yogurt and Shibathun juice also can also taste according to the season. Since the final destination is Kanjin Gumba at an altitude of 3800 m, the probability of AMS is low.

Although the Kyanjin Gumba is at a low altitude, it can hike from there to the Kanjin Ri at an altitude of about 4400 m and the Tsergu Ri at an altitude of 4984m.  From both view points, you can see the breathtaking mountain views spread all around, as well as beautiful glaciers and lakes at comfortable elevation.

Gosaikunda After Langtang Valley, you can travel to Holy lake Gosaikund to the south via Thulo Syabru village. It is a vibrant village with good living facilities. From there the trail goes uphill with a great mountain views at the back. After getting to Chyolong Patti by crossing the dense pine forest the view from all around is completely open. When you climb the hill of Lauribina, you can see the stunning piano, stunning panoramic view of  Lang tang to Annapurna rangeoramic view of  Lang tang to Annapurna range.

Then after crossing  first two beautiful lakes, finally you reach to Holy lake Gosaikunda at an elevation 4380 m. Hindus worship this lake as a sacred place of Lord Shiva. Every year on full moon day of August, there is a grand fair of Shamans and pilgrims from all over.

From Gosaikunda Lake trekkers can either proceed to Helambu valley or return to Dhunche and back to Kathmandu.
